    A chance for kids to learn and tinker with the help of our experienced coaches. The open shop format means that kids can work on their own projects, but we also welcome those who don't have any idea what to do. Led by Jack Perrin and Jared Wolf

  • After-School STEM Club: LEGO Robotics!

    November is robotics month at the makerspace! Learn to build robots that learn to explore and sense their environment.

  • After School STEM Club: Light Up the Season!

    For the last STEM club sessions of the year we’re making things that bring light into the long nights. Ornaments, decorations, LED sculptures and more! Lots of opportunities to make gifts.

    Note: In January this class transitions to Underwater ROV, a robotics team competition for grades 5 -12.

  • Felting Workshop

    Felting is a classic cozy activity for winter! Join local artist Molly Holmlund as she shows you basic needle felting techniques to create ornaments using beautiful and versatile wool. All the materials are provided, and any level is welcome, no experience necessary. Needle felting is easy to learn and you can expect to make a couple of creations to take home.of creating wonderous shapes and figures from felt.

  • Winter Break Class: Remote Controlled Contraptions

    What do glitter bombs, toy cars and airplanes all have in common? They can all be controlled remotely! Join us for two days of exploring the wonderful world of RC vehicles and inventions. We’ll learn about all types of RC, ranging from old fashioned hydraulics to radio frequency.

  • Woodworking for Homeschoolers

    Our October/November session will focus on kitchen gadgets: cutting boards, knife blocks, spoons and spatulas, for home or for loved ones. Students are welcome to add their own flare to their projects. Taught by Jared.

  • Intro to 3D Printing and TinkerCAD

    Learn to draw shapes in 3 dimensions and how to use a printer to bring them to life! Small class size (3) means that kids get lots of attention and time on machines.

  • Intro to Laser Cutting: DIY Coasters and Decorations

    This class shows you how to use our favorite digital tool in the shop. A laser cutter can turn images into precisely rendered engravings and cut intricate shapes from wood, plexiglass, and other materials. A small class size (4) allows for lots of time on the tools.

    The Micro:bit is a tiny computer with tons of power. It can sense temperature, light, sound and movement. Connect it to a motor and start prototyping your invention. Warning: you get to write code for this board!

  • Machine Sewing for Kids

    Make this beautiful handbag all in one afternoon! This class is geared towards beginners and guides kids through all the steps to sew a bag they will use proudly. This is taught by Anne Gengler, who has been helping kids learn to sew at the makerspace for many years.
