Precision Marking Tools
Precise joinery requires precise measurement and marking. In this class we will use hardware kits to produce a marking knife and a marking gauge to be used in marking and layout for joinery. Taught by Eamon Stack.

Beginning Woodturning
During this four session class, you will be introduced to the lathe, tools, and accessories used in woodturning. You will learn how to select and prepare the wood, mount it on the lathe, and use various tools to shape, sand, and finish your piece. Great for beginners or those who need a refresher. Make some simple gifts for the youngsters in your life - we’ll learn the tools and techniques for making wooden toys that walk, roll or puzzle-piece together. Taught by Jared Wolf.

Carving a Butter Spreader
You can have your butter and spread it too! Learn to carve a butter spreader from a tree! In this class we will discuss wood grain and orientation, why we carve with green wood, knife skills and design. Each student will get a roughed-out blank to carve their spreader from and be spreading in no time!

Intermediate Woodworking: Shop Stool
Take your skills to the next level with this Shop Stool! This project turns a single 2x10 into a classy stool with a foot rest. This stool is all glue joints, requires no fasteners, and leaves plenty of room for customization.
Legs are attached to the seat with mortise and tenon joints, and leg bracing can be accomplished with half-laps or mortise and tenon depending on maker preference and experience. Ages 15+

Make a cute thing for outside your front door! Reclaimed and rustic or crisp and new, we’ll have wood here to match your style. Together the class will learn how to use a few different saws and nailers, drills, drivers, stains and finishes.

Carving a Simple Spoon
Learn to carve a simple spoon with knives! Each student will be given a spoon blank of green wood (freshly cut) to carve. We will discuss knife grips, safety and technique with a straight knife and a hook knife. This spoon is great for tea, jam, honey, stirring and scooping in jars. Gain a new lens on working with wood!
